Frequently Asked Question

  • How should I discard Remsima® SC injection device?1

    • Discard in an approved sharps disposal container immediately after use.
    • If you do not have one, you may use a household container that is:
      - Made of heavy-duty plastic with a tight-fitting, puncture-resistant lid
    • Refer to Instructions for self injection brochure for complete list of possible containers.
    • Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
    • Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use.
  • What is the side effect of Remsima® SC?1

      Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Most side effects are mild to moderate.
      However, some patients may experience serious side effects and may require treatment. Side effects may also occur after your treatment with Remsima® has stopped.

    • Tell your doctor straight away if you notice any of the following:
      signs of an allergic reaction, signs of a local injection site reaction, signs of a heart problem, signs of infection (including TB), possible signs of cancer, signs of a lung problem, signs of a liver problem, signs of an immune system disorder called lupus, signs of low blood counts, signs of serious skin problems
    • Very common side effects include
      stomach pain, feeling sick, viral infections(herpes, flu), upper respiratory infections such as sinusitis, headache, an injection, pain

  • Who should not use Remsima® SC?1

    • If you are allergic to infliximab or any other ingredients of this medicine (listed in package leaflet).
    • If you are allergic to murine proteins.
    • If you have tuberculosis or serious infection.
    • If you have moderate or severe heart failure.
    • If you are not sure, talk to your doctor before injection.
  • What if I use more Remsima® SC than you should?1

    • In this case, speak to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse immediately.
    • Always keep the outer carton of the medicine, even if it is empty.
  • What if I miss dose of Remsima® SC?1

      If you miss dose for up to 7 days from the original scheduled dose,

    • Take the missed dose immediately.
    • Take your next dose on the originally scheduled date and thereafter biweekly.
    • Do not take a double dose on the same day to make up for a missed dose.
    • If you miss dose for 8 days or more after the original scheduled dose,

    • In this case, do not take the missed dose.
    • Take your next dose on the next originally planned date and thereafter biweekly.
  • How long can Remsima® SC stay out of fridge?1

    • You can store your medicine in the original package outside of refrigerator up to maximum of 25°C for up to 28 days.
    • Write the new expiry date on the carton including day/month/year.
    • Discard this medicine if not used by the new expiry date or the expiry date printed on the carton, whichever is earlier.
    • Do not return to refrigerated storage again.
  • How should I store Remsima® SC?1

    • Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
    • Do not use the medicine after the expiry date written on the label and the carton after "EXP".
      The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
    • After taking out a device from the carton, keep the remaining medicine in the fridge if there is any.
    • Store in a refrigerator (2°C~8°C). Do not freeze.
      Keep the medicinal product in its outer carton to protect from light.
    • It is highly recommended to store the medicine in the middle part of the refrigerator.
